I realize I have been slacking on updating our blog but I know this new year will bring many more fun and unforgettable adventures for us that I will make more of an effort to document! We have been enjoying ourselves here in Columbus with our pets. Today the weather was absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed a nice walk around our subdivision. Simon delivered a semi load of white rock to our house a couple weeks ago for our driveways. Tyson spent the day spreading it out, and it looks very nice!
My mom and sister came to visit yesterday (Saturday) and we had an absolute blast. We treated them to the best burger in Columbus at Glur's Tavern (the oldest bar west of the Missouri River). My sister got "Just Dance 3" for her Birthday so we spent the rest of the afternoon burning those cheeseburger calories off . I have never felt like such a dork in my life, however when you are around those you love, it doesn't really matter.
I haven't taken any pictures lately, however I wanted to include one of the Christmas gift I received from my amazing husband. I have always had an interest in the historical aspect of the stockyards, butcher shops, and packing plants. I realize it is an interest probably not understood by most, but I feel very fortunate to have grown up in rural America where agriculture is prominent and a big part of my life. Every person on the planet depends on agriculture in some way and we can never give enough thanks to those hard working farmers and ranchers. Anyways enough with that! The real reason for my writing this it to show you how much thought my husband put into my gift! The picture is of the Union Stockyards in Chicago (I estimate the 1940's). Of course it is not hung on the wall yet, but it will be put behind our couch where I can oooo and ahhhh over it all day!
I hope that you are all getting a great start to your new year! God Bless!!
