Distractions...

Emerie is currently distracted with her pacifier. She is constantly grabbing it and popping it out of her mouth. Sometimes when my back is turned I find it on the floor across the room. It's pretty hysterical to watch her try to put it back in.

5 Months Old....

Emerie turned 5 months old on Monday! Where has the time gone!!

She has now mastered rolling from her back to her stomach. When she gets excited she pumps her legs and throws her arms around, especially when she sees her favorite toys. Her pacifier has now become a distraction as she pulls it out and waves it around in the air (upcoming post on that).

We love you little peanut, but you need to slow down growing!!

Our little Valentine...

Our Valentine's day was much different than all of our others in the past. Not only because we have little Emmy but because she came down with RSV. I had to rush into daycare and pick her up to go to the doctors office on Thursday where her doctor told us she was positive. I was devastated! Especially because I have done all in my power to avoid sick people and I thought that the breastfeeding would help too. So we spent the rest of Valentine's Day cuddling on the couch and then I woke up in a panic on Friday morning because Emerie slept through the night for about 10 hours straight (not normal for her to sleep through the night). Her fever finally broke on Saturday which marked the start of her feeling much better. Luckily I had Monday off for President's Day so she was able to stay home again. I feel very fortunate that she was able to recover from RSV within 5 days. I guess she does have one heck of an immune system!

She received a bag from daycare filled with goodies from the other kids in her nursery and the girls who take care of her. This all put a huge smile on my face, I am so happy we chose the daycare we did.

Her loot included a pear juice, goldfish, candy, bubbles and a little stuffed bear.

This brought a tear to my eye. The best Valentine's gift I have ever received yet (Sorry Ty). You just can't beat a picture of your smiling little peanut.

These Little Piggies...

are finding their way into little E's mouth. Putting clothes on her is very hard now as she is constantly cranking her legs up to get her feet into her mouth. I am amazed by her everyday......

Naked Time...

Emerie is a huge fan of naked time.

I took this picture on a Saturday morning while she was chilling in our bed.

Here she is hanging out in her own "crib" naked again...

Uncle Clint

To say my brother (aka Uncle Clint) is in love with his little niece is an understatement. Clint turns into putty around Emerie. It makes me worry that he won't ever be able to tell her "no" in the future but we will face that obstacle when we get there. My brother stayed with us last weekend as he rode back from college with someone who lives only 20 minutes from our place. So we went to pick him up on Friday night and dropped him back off on Sunday afternoon. It was a very fun weekend as my mom and sister came on Saturday to see Clint as well. We also got a chance to show Clint our church on Sunday which was very special.

Just doing a little light studying on the computer...

Such a fuzzy little stinker...

Her new "My Uncle Rocks" outfit complete with the dark jeggings..

I call this Emmy's "monster mode" complete with squealing, growling, and wiggling.

Also a BIG Congrats to my brother for landing the most amazing internship ever! After he graduates in May he will be starting an internship with Pfizer as a drug rep...so proud of you little bro!

Little Monkey

Within the past couple of days Emerie has been rolling from her back to her stomach constantly. However, once on her stomach she gets very frustrated and gives up by plopping her head down face first into the blanket. I then intervene by putting her on her back however within two seconds she is rolled over again. I am hoping she will figure out it is much easier to go from her stomach to her back than the task she is currently undertaking.

My silly little monkey stopping mid-play for a quick pose....love her so much

God Made a Farmer

This commercial that was played during the Super Bowl will stick with me forever. Our farmers do not get enough recognition for their sacrifices and contributions to this world. I thank God that I was raised in rural America in a family that can relate to this commercial. My passion for the working ranchers and farmers as well as my upbringing is what made me pursue a degree in Agriculture. I will instill these same values in Emerie and my other children as they grow. Not only is the message powerful for the hardworking farmers but also for our glorious God who we all need to remember to thank daily. God's name is not mentioned enough in our society which saddens my heart, thank you Dodge for reminding America what is important.

Ducks

Since Tyson and I did not find out before Emerie was born whether we were having a boy or girl, Emerie ended up with A LOT of duck themed outfits. These are her new duds from Aunt Taylor in her 6 month size.

Perfect Poser...

We have the most perfect little poser. Whenever I snap the camera it's like Emerie knows to turn on the silly girl that she is inside.

I had Martin Luther King Jr. Day off so I spent the whole day snuggling this sweet pea.
