Lounging...

She is a big fan of lounging while I am working out. She often sits there and watches every move I make. She even claps for me!!

Food.....

Emerie is now eating some solid foods, although I am very careful as she still only has her two bottom teeth. She loves yogurt bites, puffs, and cheerios. I also feed her table food if we are having something suitable for her. She really is a good little eater who can put it away. Which is funny since she is still only weighing in at 15 pounds!!

Books.

I have a serious book lover on my hands! This makes me happy and giddy as I love children's books. She also helps turn the pages, sometimes before I have finished the page before so I have learned to become a very fast reader. When I have chores around the house to do I often sit her on the couch (with the recliner out of course) and give her books. It would keep her busy for hours! This was a few from her sick day at home.

 

Our current favorites are the Eric Carle books. As well as 10 Little Ladybugs, and the animal sensory books.

Standing up...

Emerie is still not crawling, she does however love to stand! She especially likes to support herself, with no help from me. I have a feeling that she might just skip crawling all together and go straight to walking. Once she is standing she starts chatting away and yelling at everything that moves. These pictures were taken on Monday when she was home sick with some sinus crud :( 

 

 

Fathers Day 2013

Fathers Day 2013 was by far one of the most fun days I have had. We decided to take Emerie to the water park here in Columbus called the "Pawnee Plunge". They have a special designated area for babies and toddlers complete with jumpers inside of the water!! There is also a lot of fountains and water toys. This was Emerie's first time at a place like this, besides splashing in her bath tub which she loves. She was pretty unsure about it at first and I thought we would be leaving after five short minutes, however her daddy took her to a quiet spot where he eventually got her splashing and playing. After that she was the water parks #1 fan. I really had a great day watching Emerie explore new things and enjoy herself. The best part though was spending time with the two loves of my life enjoying the simple things, like splashing in the water.

 

She was getting pretty excited about all of the waters splashing in her face...it was too cute!

Overall, it was such a fun day. Happy Fathers Day to you Tyson, you are such a great daddy!

Lion...

I found this little lion on a garage sale and it is worth the whopping $5 I paid for it. Emerie loves to sit on it and be pushed around. She gets pretty rambunctious and squeals the entire time...

 

 

Minnesota Wedding Weekend..

My college roommate and best friend Nicole got married on Saturday in Tracy, Minnesota. I was asked to be her personal attendant, so we left Columbus Friday morning and stayed in Tracy through Sunday morning. It was such a beautiful day and I was so honored that she asked me to be a part of it. I was a little nervous as it was Emerie's first wedding dance and with her bed time being consistently at 7:30 every night I was unsure how we would be able to have a good time while ensuring she was a happy baby as well. We took the stroller and she lounged in there and eventually fell asleep so Tyson and I were able to enjoy some "adult time" with my college friends.

 

Nicole, I am so happy for you and Jason! I have never seen two people more in love than the both of you. Though the miles are great between us, you will always be my best friend. When I first started college and was so homesick you were the one who made me feel so much better. I could never thank you enough for your friendship. I wish you and Jason all the happiness in the world!!

Master Sitter..

Emerie is a master at sitting on her own. I tried to put her toys a couple feet in front of her in hopes of her trying to get to them herself. However she was perfectly content watching me the entire time so I had to capture a few pictures.

Then she gets lazy sometimes. I had put the pillow behind her in case she tipped over. I walked back into the living room to find her lounging back and relaxing. Such a little nut..

So Big.....

Emerie loves throwing her hands up over her head when I say "So Big". It really is the cutest thing!

8 months old....

Emerie approached the 8 month mark last month on the 18th. It is still amazing to me how fast she is growing and picking up new skills. She is really turning into a little show-off and is always looking for my reaction when she plays music or talks really loudly. She is still not crawling however with my help she loves to stand behind her walker. I really am crazy about this little peanut!

 

Her bright blue eyes get every one's attention, just like her daddy's!
